Doxycycline sunburn hands

Doxycycline increases your sun sensitivity. This means even short sun exposure can lead to severe sunburn, especially on delicate skin like your hands. Protect your hands diligently with a high SPF (at least 30) broad-spectrum sunscreen, reapplying frequently, especially after washing or sweating.

Wear gloves when outdoors, particularly during peak sun hours (10 am to 4 pm). Choose lightweight, breathable fabrics to minimize discomfort. Consider UPF clothing for enhanced sun protection. If sunburn does occur, treat it promptly with cool compresses and aloe vera gel to soothe inflammation and promote healing. Avoid harsh soaps and hot water on affected areas.

Severe sunburn, characterized by blistering or significant pain, warrants medical attention. Your doctor can assess the burn and recommend appropriate treatment, potentially including pain relievers or topical corticosteroids. Remember, prevention is key. Consistent sun protection is far better than dealing with the consequences of a painful, sunburnt hand.
