Overdose Information: What to Do in Case of Accidental Ingestion

Immediately call your doctor or a poison control center. Have the amoxicillin suspension container with you to provide them with the necessary information, such as the amount ingested and the child’s weight.

Poison Control will provide specific guidance based on your child’s age and the amount of amoxicillin consumed. Follow their instructions carefully.

Do not induce vomiting unless instructed by a medical professional. This can cause more harm than good in some situations.

Keep the child awake and observe them closely for any adverse reactions, including allergic reactions (rash, hives, swelling, difficulty breathing) or gastrointestinal distress (vomiting, diarrhea). Report any changes in their condition to the doctor or poison control center immediately.

Take your child to the nearest hospital emergency room if advised by medical personnel or if their condition deteriorates.

Contact your doctor for follow-up care after the overdose incident, even if your child seems to have fully recovered.
